Wendy Overend, Ph.d - viCE PRESIDENT

Wendy Overend, PhD (she/her) is a special education teacher and consultant with an emphasis in autism, FAS, ADHD, ODD and other specific learning disorders and behavior challenges. Wendy has been

an educator for over 30 years starting out in Montessori education, and working with undergraduates at Santa Barbara City College, Antioch University, as well as advising Master’s and Doctoral students at

Pacifica Graduate Institute, Saybrook University, and Grand Canyon University in CA, WA and AZ.

Wendy has taught coursework in coaching, leadership, HR, counseling psychology, human sexuality, art history, and non-profit fundraising/development both in-person and online as a faculty member in numerous Universities and colleges around the U.S.

Since growing up in Zambia, England, and South Africa her work has always centered on diversity, equity and inclusion in education for all ages. She is a social justice advocate and is passionate about infant and child development. She currently resides in Anchorage, AK where she works with K-2 children with special needs and behavior challenges.

Wendy has a PhD Human Development from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA, completing her dissertation focused on leadership change and organizational management. Her Master’s degrees in Organization Development, another in MA Human Development, she is now a certificated and licensed elementary school teacher in both WA and AK, having attained her MEd Elementary Education from with endorsements in Early Childhood and Special Education from GCU.

Wendy has volunteered and fundraised for the American Lung Association in Santa Barbara, CA, Jubilee Reach Foundation in Bellevue, WA, and assisted locally during COVID with vaccination clinics and

delivery of services to seniors in need. Currently Wendy is training for triathlons and enjoying an empty nest, travel adventures with her husband, and exploring the beautiful 49th State!
